There’s been a lot of food themed things happening this week, so grab a snack for this week’s update!

A lot of brands were joining in the memorial weekend celebrations, but one that stood out from the crowd was KFC who are giving away limited edition Col. Sanders floaties for the holiday.

The floatie features holders for a bucket of chicken and a drink… what more could you ask for? #SummerGoals

KFC announced this giveaway via a 10 second video.

You can enter this competition at in order to bag yourself a free pool float just in time for the summer. This ends June 22, with the winners being announced June 23, meaning that the winners will have their pool floats just in time for the 4th of July celebrations to begin!
Additionally, the fast food chain have also created a Snapchat lens which brings Col. Sanders to life via augmented reality.

Another fast food restaurant changing the game this week is Chipotle, who are shaping the food order process.
Chipotle revealed that they will be adding new drive-thru lanes to locations which are exclusively for picking up online food orders.
This is going to speed up the order process and provide their customers with a pleasurable dining experience. Unlike other fast food chain’s drive-thrus, you will not be able to order at these but instead do it ahead of time through Chipotle’s app or an online ordering form.
In the last year, Chipotle’s online sales have increased 40% to the year prior accounting for over 8% of Chipotle’s total sales. This is expected to increase with the introduction of these new drive thru-lanes.

Gregg’s may also have to make room to accommodate for new consumers!
The bakery chain took their food to a gourmet food festival disguised as ‘Gregory and Gregory’.

The festival goers were impressed with the food that they were sampling and shocked to find out that it was from Greggs, who are best known for their cheap and cheerful options.
By doing this, the bakers are able to show the impressive range of food that they offer and attract a new audience to their shops.
That’s all for this week, be sure to come back next week for more of the latest in digital marketing and ecommerce….
