Here’s our weekly round-up giving you a quick update on the latest and most interesting campaigns in the world of ecommerce and digital marketing…
With the snow hitting the UK, we thought we’d bring you an update from outside for this week’s video! (Just in case you haven’t seen enough of it).
Everyone in the U.K. is dreaming of a lovely hot latte to warm up from the cold. However, if you’re headed to Starbucks for your warm drinks be prepared to pay a latte levy of 5p for a takeaway cup!
The coffee chain is doing this in an attempt to cut down on waste and encourage customers to purchase a reusable cup. The latte levy is being trailed in 35 London Starbucks branches for three weeks and started on Monday.
The results of this trial will be monitored and Starbucks will look at the success of this trail before taking further steps.
It’s great for the environment and will reduce the waste that is caused 2.5 billion reusable cups each year. However, like with everything the reactions for this are mixed.
Speaking of mixed reactions, you’ve probably heard that Snapchat has had a recent update and not everyone is happy about it.
To top it all off, Kylie Jenner, who has a large Snapchat following, put out a tweet revealing that she wasn’t that into Snapchat anymore.
sooo does anyone else not open Snapchat anymore? Or is it just me… ugh this is so sad.

The day after the tweet was posted, Snapchat’s stocks had fallen by 8% which equates to $1.3 billion!
Since the recent update and redesign, the app has not been popular with users.
Although the stocks falling isn’t entirely down to Jenner, it’s pretty amazing what one tweet can do!
As you may remember, Australia reached a milestone in December, supporting a change to the law which allows gay couples the right to get married.
Apple, along with many brands wanted to celebrate this. They have shown LGBTQ+ support in their new ‘first dance’ campaign for the iPhone X. Apple has released a set of four adverts which includes footage from same sex weddings.
The adverts were shot on Apple’s iPhone X, which is impressive. A great camera and a brilliant set of adverts.
Despite not directly advertising the latest iPhone and its features, the beautiful footage really sells the 4K camera itself.
That’s all for this week, be sure to come back next week for more of the latest in ecommerce and digital marketing.
