Purpose of this Service Privacy Notice

SaleCycle (“us”, or “we”) are the “data processor” in respect of personal information processed as part of our services offered to our clients. The list of our services can be found here: https://www.salecycle.com/solutions/

We take our obligations seriously regarding the processing of personal data on behalf of our clients. This notice applies to the processing of information that is entered on a Salecycle client’s website and to the storage and accessing of certain information stored on your device using cookies and similar technologies (hereafter referred to as “cookies”) as part of the service which SaleCycle provides to its clients. This notice sets out a description of the purposes of this storage and access to such information in order to provide transparency and information to both our clients and customers of our clients.

What information is stored and accessed

As you browse one of our client’s ecommerce websites and progress through the checkout process, we will use cookies and similar technologies to process certain information from your device regarding your use of the client’s website. Cookies, local storage and other similar technologies store a small amount of data in your browser or on the hard drive of your device. Data that we store in cookies and similar technologies is associated with the following domain, s.salecycle.com.

The information we process on our clients’ behalf via our clients’ websites as described above may include your name, salutation, email address and/or telephone number (for example when you fill in your details on the client’s website), a unique identifier associated with your device, IP address, as well as details of which of the client’s products or services you have shown an interest in purchasing (for example Basket ID / Order ID, Subtotal, Title, Currency, Discounts, Shipping, Items, Product ID, Client Product ID, URL, Single Item Price, Category, Tax etc.).

We use data centres and cloud-based data storage based within the EU and the UK and ensure we have appropriate contractual controls in place with our suppliers and conduct due diligence upon their security controls. In addition, we maintain our own security controls in accordance with ISO/IEC 27001:2013 security standards.

The purpose of processing the information referred to above is so that our clients can use our service in order to contact you from time to time (either by email or SMS) or personalise content displayed to you whilst you are on our client’s website, in each case in accordance with applicable privacy and data protection laws.

The communications referred to above may include, for example, emails relating to a product which you recently added to the online shopping basket on the relevant client’s website but did not complete the order. The information processed as described above may also be used in order to generate a report for the relevant client regarding their use of our service.

Please note that we do not use the above personal information for our own purposes, we only use it as instructed by our clients in order to provide our service to our clients. Our clients are the “controllers” in relation to any such personal information collected and used via our service and we are a “processor”. Please therefore see the privacy notice of our clients whose websites you have visited to find more information about how they will use your personal information.

We may use aggregated anonymous non-personal (statistical) information for reporting purposes to demonstrate the value of our services, to monitor and present the effectiveness of our services and to detect anomalies in the data we receive from our clients’ websites.
